The Story Behind My Undiagnosed Life on the Spectrum<\/p>
For most of my life, I felt different.<\/p>
Not in a way I could easily explain, but in a way I felt every single day.<\/p>
Things that seemed easy for other people often felt overwhelming to me. Social situations were exhausting. I masked constantly without even realising I was doing it.<\/p>
For years, I assumed I was simply too sensitive, too quiet, or just \u201cdifferent.\u201d<\/p>
Everything began to make sense when my children were diagnosed autistic.<\/p>
Suddenly I started recognising pieces of my own childhood and life experiences reflected back at me. The things I had struggled with for so long finally had context. It was both emotional and incredibly validating.<\/p>
Writing My Undiagnosed Life on the Spectrum became a way for me to process that journey.<\/p>
It\u2019s a story about masking, motherhood, understanding neurodivergence, and learning to see yourself through a new lens.<\/p>
But it\u2019s also about something more important:<\/p>
realising that being different was never the problem.<\/p>
Understanding was.<\/p>
Alongside the book, I wanted to create small items that reflect the same message of growth, reflection and self-acceptance. The designs you see here \u2014 the open book, the tulip, and the quiet moments like a cup of tea \u2014 represent learning, growth and taking time to understand ourselves.<\/p>
If my story helps even one person feel less alone in their own journey, then sharing it will have been worth it.<\/p>
